Back to the Future
16 July '09, Uncategorized .
I don’t know if someone is following my blog, but I left it with no updates for a while, mainly because I was moving from my regular hosting to another, so I didn’t want that all my posts and pages where lost in that process so I stopeed blogging, but now I’m back and everything went well thanks to the expert in wordpress Grace Montoya hehe.
Te last post was regarding my project For Less or Free which was screened at the 62e FESTIVAL DE CANNES, but this time I would like to write a little bit about the recent major news or events.
Starting with the celebration of the LC-A classic camera from Lomography, and it was nice really nice party celebration, I was there with my good friend Jan and my lovely gf to enjoy the free mojitos, cake and a brand new film roll thanks to the owner.
By the beginning of June I started working with a clothing store, and I’m doing what I like the most, Motion Graphics & Animation. I’m very happy working with them! Club Outlet
Time passed, to the beginning of July and good news arrived! first me and Grace won a flash trip to Sweden to the Sony-Ericsson head quarters in Malmo, it was a ver nice and different experience, going with a bunch of Spaniards in the tour was very funny!
And then thanks again to Movistar and his scavenger’s hunt photo contest, we won the first place!, the price is a fantastic trip to London which is my favorite city in the world ñ_ñ!

Dunny by PESKIMO
Today was a day for exploring.
For a while my brother and I were avid fans of Kid Robot’s Dunny’s, which are those popular vinyl figurines, and I’ve always tried to find a store here in Madrid to put my hands on the Ye Old English series, which unfortunately ended with no luck, until now.
Yesterday I was talking with my brother about I being missing his birthday present which led me to start a search for Dunny’s.
Finally today I found on the Internet a very cool designer toy store SUBAQUATICA, and since it was in a very short walking distance from my flat I decided to go!
I was very happy to find the Engilsh Series, the French Series and some of the series before that one, so it’s matter of time for me to grab new dunny’s from the Endangered series.

Inglourious Basterds!
21 May '09, Cannes, Quentin Tarantino .
Couldn’t write at all the last few days but I was busy doing a really cool short filmthat it’s coming out soon, now I’m back from Cannes Film Fest and I need to write a complete review about my whole experience there but for now I want to share this cool review or thoughts that my friend Melody sent to me regarding the new Tarantino movie, hope she doesn’t mind that I’m posting this hehe
* Quentin Tarantino’s wartime spaghetti western about a bunch of Nazi-hunting Americans is just Gott-awful
* The full catastrophe of his new film arrived like some colossal armour-plated turkey from hell. The city of our hopes is in flames.
* Inglourious Basterds’
merely continues the string of disappointments in this year’s Competition… for a war movie there is very little action
* It isn’t funny; it isn’t exciting; it isn’t a realistic war movie, yet neither is it an entertaining genre spoof or a clever counterfactual wartime yarn.
* “‘Inglourious Basterds’ clocks in at nearly three hours, and its director could certainly have trimmed more of its flab. This, and Pitt’s character not getting the screen time he deserves, are the main disappointments… [Tarantino] is royalty at this festival – and as long as you can suspend disbelief and offence, he remains the king of trashy cinema.
* Tarantino’s emptied out his bladder of creativity when he did PULP FICTION. It’s been just a series of over-hyped and over-rated offerings ever since then (kinda like the Emperor’s clothes syndrome). Think I’ve had my bellyful of Tarantino-esque homages unless there’s some substance to go along with all the hype.
* There is far too much yakking, some of it thickly accented and hard to follow, most of it without the rhythmic zing of his best work
* He needs to understand that not every bit of dialogue he writes is brilliant.

DRUNK (im sure) and dancing (this pictures dont show how much of a fool he looked like…)

Pixar’s Up
15 May '09, Uncategorized .
Yesterday, me and Grace picked up our accreditations and the new bag of this year’s festival, which last time it was a very cool handy bag and now it is a backpack, not very happy with it since it has a very cheap iron-transfer with part of the film fest poster, but anyway its free.
Later we went to check if there were tickets available to the new pixar’s film UP, which unfortunately there were none, but we were hoping that they could be realeased some time later.
We explored the Marché du Film, where we spotted the guys from IMCINE , RTVE , and many many more.
Then we went upside the palais to the conference room just in case we found someone!! and wow the conference for UP was on! I was very excited and I instantly got out of my wallet my business card, and when the conference was over we managed to be in front of Pete Docter and Bob Peterson, I was in shock and now that I think about it I should have asked for an autograph hehe. I also managed to get my B-card to mr. Pete Docter and a very gentle lady from Pixar, I know they have millions of applications but if they could just see some of my works in my portfolio and give me an opportunity that could be awesome.
After the conference we went  to grab our groceries and then back to the flat, the bus ride was a little bit confusing. First we get inside the wrong one and after finding out how it worked, we found the correct which was a really good timing because when we got to the flat and checked the online ticketing system for the screenings there were available tickets for UP!!! and eventually we got ours!!
We went to grab our tickets, and then to walk besides the beach, and later we came back to the flat to get ready for the premier, the only bad thing was the night bus thing, which starts too early! and it comes only 1 every 30 minutes ! so we missed the bus and we were not going to be able to do the 30 minute walk, but fortunately we managed to catch a taxi =S which was a little bit expensive but we were just in time to the movie!
When you entered the theatre they gave you a pair of 3D glasses, and since we got a very good seat (orchestre) we were ready for the movie, they didn’t show a new short film at the beginning of the movie, but Up was a really cool movie, I think it’s not exactly for kids because it has a more complex story, but also they have characters made for the little viewers.

Madrid-Frankfurt-Cannes
12 May '09, Uncategorized .
Started the day at 5 am making the baguettes for the long trip ahead, then went right away to recharge my cellphone, then to the airport, the flight was supposed to be with Lufthansa but ended with Spanair, which is not so cool since that horrible accident, and indeed when the plane was ready to take off I saw a giant white cross in memory of that accident, appart from a lot of shaking during the flight, and just a small sandwich, everything was perfect.
Then at Frankfurt while I was waiting the other plane, I just thought that a toblerone would be perfect for the mood, haha and I was so lucky to walk near an abandoned newspaper and there it was!!! a brand new bar of toblerone, for free!!! haha, then I wished to have a new ipod but nothing came out.
After a lot of waiting in Frankfurt we headed to Nice airport, in the flight I met this really cool french guy who was spending his vacation in Argentina and Bolivia, he even went to the salt desert! which I’m in love for a while! then at the arrival I was so lucky enough to catch the last shuttle to Cannes, I even was the last in the bus before they closed the door!
I got to Cannes and I started walking to find out where I was gonna stay, after a looong walk from the Palais to the beach and beyond, I got to the flat, where I waited Melody! a really good friend from LA, I met her at last year’s Reel Ideas Studio,  she is a very talented film maker, her boyfriend is a very cool guy which does killer planning and programming. I will later put a link to their websites, now it’s time to get to bed, tomorrow I will try to grab my badge very early.
Good Night!
